Indian businessman Pankaj Parakh celebrated his 45th birthday in style by ordering a shirt made from nearly 4kg of gold. The 18-22 carat shirt cost an estimated $161,000 and was crafted by a team of 20 artisans who spent 3,200 hours on its construction.
Parakh said at the time, ‘Gold has fascinated me since I was five-years-old, studying in school. I am passionate about this royal metal’. Parakh’s gilded attire subsequently earned him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘the most expensive gold shirt in the world’.
