Gold as a financial asset

In 1982, the world’s most populous country entered the gold bullion investment market by minting the Gold Panda bullion coin. Considered legal tender in China, the coin was designed to be circulated as a currency but investors soon realized its potential as investment bullion. The coins come in different weights and the panda design changes every year, fuelling its popularity.
